It’s a rare feeling and it doesn’t happen very often. Some people never get the privilege to experience it, not even for a moment. Actually, most people go through their lives completely unaware that anything resembling that special feeling even exists. They don’t think about it; don’t know anyone that does; don’t care about it at all, completely preoccupied with the day-to-day life and everything all of us must go through every day.

But some of us have experienced it. Some of us reacted to it. Some of us were changed by it.

It can happen at anytime. It can touch us no matter where we are or what we do. We could be walking in the evening, staring at the sunset, just as we do most evenings. We could be sitting in the train, reading the book, or simply enjoying a pleasant conversation with someone we like. We could be fighting with someone; full of rage and accusations. Still, it would come and touch us. Breathe in, and there it is – that feeling telling us how precious it all really is. It creeps in with that breathe of air and it spreads through our body and our mind instantly. Within seconds we are smiling wider than ever before, without any effort. Within seconds, everything changes, although we know it is just us; our own vision of the world that changed.
Colours are brighter, sounds are more pleasant; everything makes perfect sense.

We expand, grow, change and evolve. We learn. The lifetimes of learning come rushing in, and somehow, for that moment in life, we can take it all in. We understand.

There are no enemies; no one is trying to hurt us. Everyone just wants to be loved, same like we do. Everyone runs away from pain; chasing their dreams, wishes and desires. Everyone does their best with what they’ve got and know at this moment.

Everyone and everything is connected. Our actions touch someone else just as things other people do touch us. And somehow, we understand all of it; at least for an hour, a day, a week. Our minds expand to the point where nothing and no one is excluded. Thousands, millions of things are happening this very second on this planet alone… and we can feel it.

Such a wonderful feeling. Is this how we are meant to feel all the time? Is this it? Is this love, this enormous force rushing through me now what we are looking for in life? Does it feel like this?

Like all feelings, this one gets washed out after a while. What we call “real life” creeps in, but we can never be the same as before. We may not know it, but we tasted real freedom. And that has to leave a mark.
